I've been waiting for One Last Wish since Aurora first announced it. It was ALMOST unreal when I finally got to read. It was an emotional story, almost TOO emotional at times.
It was also shorter than I expected it to be. There was a few things I would've liked to have happen. I was hoping there'd be more time with Aubrey and Gabe together, to see more of Denver helping raise Lyra, and I would've liked it if Aubrey's brothers were in it more.
Oh, how I loved Lyra!!! She was the best part in my opinion. I also loved seeing Aubrey and Denver all grown up and bring reunited with Shelby and Zach. Denver turned out to be such an AMAZING man.
I'm sad this is the last book in the Shooting Stars Series, but it was an UNFORGETTABLE one.

I haven’t read the previous books so it took me a bit to catch up. I loved the suspense, the heartbreak and everything In between. The love story is good, I liked Denver and Bre. I liked their emotional connection and even though I love second chances I thought it built too fast.
Aubrey has had a crush on Denver Clayton since she was 13 years old and now at 17 she has been invited to attend a party with him. When she sees him kissing Pamela she is devastated but her best friend Gabe asks her on a date and she accepts.
Now 10 years later she is losing Gabe and she must figure out how to go on with her life while being pregnant. When Gabe reaches out to someone from Aubrey's past will she forgive him for the past and allow herself a chance at happiness?
I enjoyed this book but at times I was so frustrated with Aubrey that it affected my review and lowered it a little.
At the beginning I thought Aubrey was great and I did understand why she agreed to go out with Gabe after Denver broke her heart. I did think it was a little sneaky of Gabe to act so fast in that situation when he knew how both Denver and Aubrey felt about each other. I was impressed with Gabe when he let Denver know what was going on.
So I began to get frustrated with Aubrey as she kept pushing Denver away when he was continually there for her and Lyra. She was scared after everything happened with Gabe but she was doing damage all on her own and it was making me so mad that she didn't see the good things that he was doing.
Denver was awesome and so patient but I began to sympathize with him when he was getting frustrated at what Aubrey was doing, especially with Mike. I understood why he said he needed to get away and I really felt bad for him.
I was totally shocked at what Gabe's parents had planned. Blew me away!
I absolutely loved Shelby and Aubrey's dad and I was flabbergasted with Aubrey's mom and what she tried to pull. I was so happy that Denver insisted that they all have her back!

Awesome Read
This was a wonderful book and I read through quickly. The story had so many turns that my mind was all in. You have Bre that married her best friend just cause he was safe. I believe Gabe married Bre cause he saw her as a prize of some sort. Only cause he called Denver and told him he know she loved him as a teen and still did. Then why get in the way of the love?!?! As a true friend, why not encourage her to explore these feelings with that person...
Denver has waited over a decade for this woman. Wasn’t until her date with another man that pushed him to act.
And Lyre was everything. Such a sweet and gentle little girl that had the love of everyone in her life.
If you’re looking for a book with a heroine that is a bit gun-shy and a hero that is determined to get what he wants...then this book is for you!

The beginning of this book was ROUGH with a capital "R." The time jumps were incredibly annoying. One minute the heroine is seventeen, then boom it is years later, and her husband died. At that point she and hero somewhat reconnect, she finds out she is pregnant...and the next chapter...the kid is four years old and the hero has been in their lives for the entire four years as a friend. Considering how short this book was, a little more fleshing out was sorely needed!

That said, after the hot mess that was the first 20% of this book, it did get quite a lot better. Maybe not as emotional as I was expecting, but it was good. Denver was your typical ARR hero. Alpha. Sexy. Sweet. Celibate for four years. I loved his interactions with Lyra. Aubrey was extremely annoying for a good portion of this book, but once she got her head out of her a$$ I warmed up to her. I didn't find it particularly spicy, but we get a couple of sex scenes. There wasn't any OW or OM drama. It had an enjoyable cast of secondary characters, and it was all wrapped up in a few extremely sweet epilogues.

So yea, I ended up enjoying it. But like I mentioned above, the first 20% of this book was a complete mess. The story needed to be fleshed out SO much more than it was. The author threw away a perfect opportunity to tug at our emotions with Gabe's death. She also threw away the chance to create more depth in the relationship between Denver, Aubrey, and even Lyra. Denver was in their lives almost daily for FOUR YEARS, and we don't get ANY pages devoted to that time?? I

This story gave me so many emotions and played with my heart.
I felt right there with these characters I devoured this story.

I am not sure what I think of this book.
I am not keen on this genre I read it because I like the author.
Denver and Aubrey
The story starts some time after the death Aubery's husband with a second chance with a previous crush.
The excuse they hadn't got together in the first place seemed a bit weak and I felt Gage, the man who became her husband was a bit underhanded moving in when he got his chance.
There is a jump in the story to allow Aubery to grieve before Denver decides to pursue her, realistically this worked. He is able to go all 'Alpha on her and really push her, bit Kristen Ashley style.
The child was cute, some touching scenes.
HEA.
