Very slow book to start. Didn’t start picking up until somewhere in the 300s for me but I know this author usually has some wild twists so I pushed through.
The twist was interesting but the ending felt rushed and I don’t know how believable or realistic the ending was.

The ending picked up but I just don't understand why Holly Jackson's books are so long. It just leads to incessant repetition of internal monologues and makes the book drag.

I've never been big fan of thrillers, but this book (and Holly Jackson in general) has received such high reviews that I decided to add it on my tbr.
I have to say the start was in the slower side and it took me awhile to get into the story. I was also reading this in a very busy situation in my life, so I haven't had as much time to read as usual. However I feel that towards the end of the book Jackson turns it up a notch and the last 100 pages or so I just couldn't put the book down. I figured out some aspects of the ending before hand, but I could never have anticipated how the story will fold out. I really enjoyed this book even though thrillers are not my jam usually.

no es mi favorito de holly. el final no me pareció muy creíble pero sé que con estos libros aunque sucedan en la “realidad” siguen siendo ficción y hay cosas que no podrían pasar en vida real. yo diciendo que el papá era bien lindo lol, you got me fooled mr price, and you too mrs price DEATH TO ALL OF THEM. en partes me desesperaba un poco la forma en que estaba escrito, específicamente tanta mención de bel’s gut y de “everyone left, eventually” bla bla bla. mínimo le atiné a que carter era hija de rachel. se me hizo extraño como después de estarla evitando todo el libro, cuando bel descubre lo que hizo charlie y se pone del lado de rachel, en ese momento ya empieza a llamarla mamá y no la quiere soltar, i mean, aunque haya resultado la “buena”, quieras o no sigue siendo una extraña, siguen existiendo esos 16 años en que no convivió con ella, but oh well.

The ending was definitely something I could not have predicted! I found it picked up quite fast in the beginning and there was a bit of a lull in the middle but still held my attention. I literally could not figure out where Charlie was, LOL. The fact that she was right there the whole time was the worst part. The fact that she had to give birth along, THEN have her child taken away from her again broke my heart. I can tell that Pat was in a tough position, WHICH DOES NOT EXCUSE HIS ACTIONS, but bringing her clothes was kind.
