No idea why this is so recommended. It's so dull and boring, drags for way to long and a university setting, really? Gosh hope the Necromancer doesn't get expelled. Yuk.

Well I liked this book overall. It had atmosphere and an interesting mystery. But there are just some aspects that I wasn't impressed with.

First of all the character arcs were a bit strange as they sometimes did random 180s under the guise of shallow reasons. The characters kept ignoring or forgetting information or they came to bizarre conclusions. My favourite part was how for a good bit the main characters were apparently convinced their botany professor was a murderer for literally no reason at all? One of them just went "what if it's him?" and they just went with that. Justice for Mr. Ainsworth!

The ending was abrupt and honestly not build up well. A lot of the solving of the main conflict actually happened off-page which is always meh.

The smut was kinda cringe. I've read worse, definitely better.
Entertaining book overall, but it's not standing out for me.

MM Fantasy KU fluff - perfect for what I was looking for. Considered reading the next book but a new couple isn't as interesting as more Cash and Graeme.

initially was put off by the immature inner dialogue of both characters, almost dnf'd the book multiple times but I've dnf'd so many books recently I just wanted to push through this one. Their narration became kind of cunty to me in the end, and I was kind of pacified by the way this book clearly didn't take itself too seriously. The magic was refreshing and different from what I've been reading, especially the paranormal aspects. And the romance did have me giggling and kicking my feet at some points. Overall pretty humorous book that was balanced out with some serious moments

DNF 10% - Both MC's are incredibly annoying. I don't want to spend another minute with them
