My biggest complaint was being foolish enough to binge-read this in a format I couldn’t annotate. I’ll enjoy a re-read when I get a physical copy and can sit with the prose the way it deserves. The author has done so much with so little—each fragment of language carries layers of meaning, much like Geryon himself, whose every silence, thought, and movement speaks volumes. The sparse, poetic style mirrors his inner world: fractured yet vivid, painful yet beautiful.

i have never read anything more than a couple poems by anne carson—which were lovely of course—but this book was so unique and important and the way she writes is unlike anything i’ve ever seen before. strong, disembodied & heartbreaking. she uses adjectives in a way not unlike stesichoros and i’m sure this is no accident but it is nevertheless intoxicating

This book reminded me a lot of Francesca Lia Block's Weetzie Bat, but for adults if that makes sense. I don't think I understood it, especially the Stesichoros parts, but I enjoyed it a lot. Really beautiful writing, and I loved the use of form. Very curious as to how Herakles comes to kill him and his little red dog, though....
