I was a bit hasty in rating this book, but I eventually realised that I really enjoy it. As a mere casual reader, the book was a bit hard to make sense of while reading it. But after finishing it, and letting the content ferment in my brain for a while, I realised that I really appreciate it. There are various themes, from trauma to identity, that I can relate to.
I would realistically give the book 3.5 because the reading experience was not the best for me, but I can only give whole stars, so 4 it is

For the last couple of months, I have been safeguarding myself among the warm arms of poetry, getting myself into a vortex of sensations, and blistering emotions. Autobiography of Red isn't an exception, but a reminder of the beauty of the dance between words and prose.

This one took me a little bit to get into. I love poetry and I love Greek Mythology, but there was something about the writing that I couldn't get into right away. However, as I got deeper into this novel, I found myself being immersed more and more into the story and getting more and more invested as a result. I love the writing in hindsight and I love the characters. The way that Carson told this story was so interesting in the fullest sense of the word.
