Very funny and disturbing at the same time. I love the entire series.
This book was really weird which is my favorite kind, I’d say the pacing really grabs you and the ending made sense for the characters and the vibe of the book.
The problem I have with it however is the treatment of women and their role, it can be really gross at times and perpetuates the male gaze.
Other than that it was really original and I read it as a standalone book.

this was a lot of fun, as is the rest of the series. that said, the 50-80% portion did feel like it was dragging more than these books usually do, but i may just be fatigued as ive been reading more lately. i may come back to this in a few years and give it a fresh review then
Loved, loved ,loved. My favorite book of the three. Every book I read I thought it can't get any better. ( I was wrong). Definitely making these books part of my collection.

This was a deviation from what I usually read but was SO good. The writing throughout was so hilarious at times and so emotional or unsettling at other times. Obviously am left feeling like WTF was that and how do I rationalize any of this, which is most certainly the point. A really fun read with a cast of characters I found to be interesting, complex, and likable.

Shape-shifting pedophile taunting Dave with visions of a kidnapped child's mangled corpse? That's not "darkly funny." It's revolting. Didn't finish.
Best of the series so far. If you want to dabble, you can skip the first two and start with this one, which has the most perfect balance out of the three between the depressingly well realized existential horror of the premises and the affection you feel for David, John, and Amy. If you like this one, it’s no problem to go back and read the first two.
