Caught in the Chase
Caught Series, Book 3
By: Kacey Shea
Narrated by: Teddy Hamilton, Savannah Peachwood

I have been waiting for this audio and it was so worth it! This first installment of Chase and Alicia's story is raw and real, grabbing and pulling me into their lives. Alicia has taken a job in the Outerbanks, beginning her new life and dealing with her addiction. She never thought she would see the trigger that had her hitting rock bottom. Chase has been sent to the Outerbanks to fulfill some community service he needs to complete. Not ready to face his addiction, he is dealing with life day by day. That is until Alicia is back in it. Now the two have begun a new path, but where will it take them? I love Kacey Shea's writing. She deals with relevant issues in a compassionate way. There is no sugar coating, each scene giving us the reality of life. These two broken characters are easy to relate to. They delve into your heart, and you just want to help them. Real life is not easy though, and mistakes, relapses and feelings happen. I just want to know where it will all take them! Shea leaves us wanting the next in the series and I can't wait to hear it!

Casting Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood for these roles is genius. Each one plays the broken soul with a true to life feel. The pain is real, and we as listeners are engrossed in the emotional turmoil these two have. Hamilton and Peachwood have voices that are familiar, so the characters are like our family and keep us captivated. I loved their portrayal of these characters.

The emotional roller coaster that was this book!! When I first started it all I could think is “this Chase guy is better have some kind of character development!” And as always, Kacey never lets us down!!
The flashbacks allowed me to see into Alicia’s life, giving us a glimpse of how she started her partying ways and drinking addiction. You almost feel proud of her for being strong enough to help herself!
Chase is a whole other side but it’s easy to fall in love with the guy who loves kittens!

Chase and Alicia’s story was a beautiful, inspiring tale of two imperfect broken people trying to make amends for their past mistakes.

I love how Kacey was able to humanize some of her more difficult characters, and make you root for them! I now officially love Chase and Alicia when I’ll admit, they both weren’t my fav characters before. I can’t wait for more!!!

This book is worth way more than 5*s.
Alicia knows that she needs to leave to live her life like she wants to and to help with her sobriety but it's not easy.
She has taken an internship in a small town that will hopefully help get her on a course that she would love to do.
Chase made the biggest mistake of his life and now he is losing everything. Can he stay sober enough to get through his community service and stay out of prison.
They have a past but not necessarily a good one but how did they end up in the same small town.
The chemistry between them is off the charts and even though they know they should stay away from each other they can't.
So many emotions are exposed and pasts they want to forget about but they are still drawn to each other.
The book ends on a bit of a cliffhanger but will they get to see each other again.
Loved reading this book but will they get their HEA.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

I am writing this review with two hours left in the audiobook lol

I’m at the point where she has run away scared from their bond and he’s trying to process it all!

AHHHH!! And there’s still a whole other book to get through! THE ANGST! lol

Just finished. This book ends on a soft cliffhanger

Each of the characters are in a decent place with room for growth apart and together.
Interested to see how it wraps up

Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood—I adore you both that is all lol

Kacey, Kacey, KACEY! You really know how to rip a girl's heart out and stomp on it.

I just want to give Chase Matthews a hug and never let him go. Even after everything he put Callie through in the first book, I couldn't help but still love him so much. You could tell as each book in the series went on that Chase was struggling, barely able to keep his head above the water. When finally he was just sucked under. He broke my heart.

Alicia, just like Chase is someone that I just want to hug and tell her that everything is going to be okay. She has so much guilt over what she did to Callie but with Chase being in such close proximity makes it even harder for her to stay away. Especially when the two have so much in common and share so much of the same pains and struggles.

This book was an emotional rollercoaster that I couldn't put down. You just can't help but root for these two. The way these faced their demons both alone and together was just so gut-wrenching but I would read the book for the first time again if I had the chance.

The ending. The ending broke me but I understood it. To avoid spoilers I won't go too much into what happened, and as much as I wanted to scream and cry. I applaud Kacey for keeping it realistic and doing what is truly best for these characters.

This is one rollercoaster ride of emotions. Ups, downs with twists and turns!  I really got to delve deep into these characters lives, thoughts and emotions. It makes me become invested in them. Alisha really has had quite the life. I feel sorry for her but also admire her courage to go after what she wants. Chase…man! I was angry with him but eventually got over it and saw what he was trying to do with his life. Do these two belong together?  I agree with Alisha’s thoughts but also love their passion when together.

This story also covers addiction. This one is on drinking but a lot of the thoughts they have would apply to other addictions. It really gives the reader something to think about if there is anything they are addicted to(flossing, reading, eating or really just anything). I enjoy the characters thoughts on—just one sip won’t hurt or one sip leads to more.  Both are right.

Anyway this story is good, hits all the right spots and easily kept my interest. I look forward to the next to see how things turn out for all the characters not just Alisha and Chase.

I did listen to this on audio. Savannah Peachwood and Teddy Hamilton did amazing. Each brought the perfect inflictions to their characters voices.

Caught in the Chase by Kacey Shea is book 3 in the Caught series.
We first meet Chase in book 1 Caught in the Flames, but he crashed and burner and is in need of redemption.
Alicia hates Chase but is somehow drawn to him at the same time.
These two are incredibly real and emotionally driven and will take you along for the ride.
This book may rip your heart out but will also put it back together.

An outstanding continuation of the Caught Series, Caught in the Chase is an exceptional story of self-discovery, real life emotions, angst, second chances and a deep seeded connection between Alicia and Chase. Superbly written, Kacey goes in depth into Chase and Alicia's character as a result of their actions and experiences. It's mindblowing and emotional. Add to that Chase's evolution from a MEGA A$$hole to an impassioned and dedicated human being was simply astonishing! You will experience passion and love, climactic suspense, drama, intrigue, pulse-pounding highs and torturous lows. Bravo Kacey!!

I received an advanced copy of this book and am enthusiastically leaving an honest review.
