Despite my rating I did really enjoy this book, I enjoyed the story and the main character Charlie who I related to alot like Charlie is basically a boy version of me. I could relate to a lot of the things that had happened in this book because either I have gone through it or someone I love has gone through it. This book definitely deals with a lot of hard topics making this book kinda hard to read so please make sure you read the trigger warnings before reading this book. I think this book was really well written and dealt with mental health very well.
There were a few things that I did dislike about this book, one of those was I felt like some of the other characters weren't really well developed, I felt like they were kinda like cardboard cutouts of people and I just wish we learned a little bit more about the other characters.
Another thing I disliked was that this book is one that you really have to dissect and try to find different meanings for what it is say and it doesn't just come out and say what its meaning and I just have a hard time with books like that so at the end, I found myself confused at what was happened and I ended up having to look it up online and after that thing clicked for me and everything started to make a little bit more sense and it made even more sense after the I watched the movie (which I highly recommend!). I also did find myself getting bored at some moments.
All together I really did enjoy this movie and I'm really glad I have finally picked it up.
