I thought the storyline itself was good but in general it didn't do much for me. There was a lot of overlap with other series and I think more of my brain space was dedicated to finding all the connections. I liked Leighton and Bo but I wasn't nearly as invested as I've been with other books by Cara Dee.

I knew going in this would be a slow burn...and I mean slow, but I didn’t mind at all. This book felt more like laying the emotional groundwork: giving us a deeper look into who Bo and Leighton are as individuals before anything romantic really happens between them. And honestly? That made it feel earned. Leighton broke my heart in the quietest ways. His loneliness, his craving for connection, and the way Bo saw through all of it? Ugh. It hit. Bo is classic Cara Dee...gruff, guarded, but unexpectedly gentle. Watching their chemistry simmer was worth the wait, even if the tension didn’t crack until the very end. The found family vibes are strong, and I loved seeing familiar faces pop in especially the Camassia Cove connection. That kind of crossover always makes the world feel even richer. Yes, it ends in a place that leaves you immediately grabbing book 3, but if you’re in the mood for something with heart, healing, and a promise of more to come? Unmade delivers.

I’m really into this story and the whole Hillcroft group. However, I cannot even begin to express how much I hate the term “rapefuck”, which is frequently used in Cara Dee’s books. I cringe every time it’s used.
