Wow. This book had its grip into me from the very beginning. The fathers of a brutally murdered interracial, gay couple come together on a path of vengeance and redemption.

This book is fast paced and packed with action, violence, and gore. It is a gritty novel that uses the powerful emotion of grief to explore heavier topics- homophobia and racism.

Through all the carnage, though, there is the story of the unlikely antiheroes, forging a friendship and learning what “love is love” truly means.

If you want a book you can’t put down, I highly recommend giving this a read!

I didn’t think this book would have me crying but here I am.
Beautiful gorgeous STUNNING writing. Felt like a movie playing in my head. Cosby painted a beautiful picture. I thought to myself “someone had BETTER make a movie out of this shit” and I googled it and they are indeed making a movie so thank goodness.

Crying ugly tears at the end. Serious book hangover for me. I kept putting it down before an super intense part because I wanted to read what happened but I didn’t want to know.

Currently making my way through BOTM's top 5 of 2021 so I can accurately vote on my favorite. I really did enjoy this read and I hope it gets turned into a movie/series of some sort because I could easily see this on the screen. Gave me sons of anarchy vibes which I loved. Bad ass book and I can see why it is oneof the top 5.

4.5 ⭐️ rounded up

I’ve been really excited to finally get to this book and it did not disappoint. It was such an entertaining read! Full of action, mystery, emotion, twists, and surprises. I couldn’t stop thinking about it when I wasn’t reading! I’m so excited that a movie is being made based on this novel, and I really hope it translates properly everything about it. The only reason I didn’t give this book 5 stars is because I probably wouldn’t reread it. Nonetheless, the hype is real!

Check TW before reading.
