I did like this, Hugo James was my favorite character he reminded me of Rupert Campbell Black, all he needed was the roman nose and he would have been the same!

The story was slow and a little predictable but still a feel good, was a little disappointed it wasn't more festive, but still a sweet easy read, very similar to the holiday film for plot. I liked the descriptions in Barcelona although the girl only ever ate Tapas. lol

Firstly, another big thanks to TBC and the author for allowing me a copy in exchange for an honest review. I have started my Christmas reading early with this one (EXCITING!). This story reminds me of the film The Holiday as its similar with the holiday swap idea BUT totally different. Yes. I loved it. The cover is beautiful, it is written beautifully and it gives you a free vacation to Barcelona! It also has the perfect ending and I am a sucker for a great ending. The Holiday swap is the perfect chick-lit, romance, drama, adventure and Christmas filled story for all you chick-lit lovers, its perfect. I do not have a bad word to say about this story at all. If you are an animal lover this is also the book for you.

I must admit I find myself very similar to Daisy who seemed to be happy in her home and little town not much of an adventurer, but the difference is I have LOTS of books to keep me company and to travel away in my mind. Stories like this do make me want to go and adventure the world but my bank account says NO. maybe one day. Anyway, I would highly recommend this book to you! It was a feel good, funny in parts read for me which I enjoyed. The perfect weekend read. Enjoy, I did.

I really couldn't get into the book. The story line was all over the place and it just didn't make sense.

I enjoyed the writing style but ultimately thought Hugo was a dick and felt a bit bad for Jimmy so wasn’t rooting for either couple to end up together. Also felt like it dragged quite a bit, but that might’ve been because I was annoyed. Would try another book from the author to see if I connect with those characters more as the writing was good.

The story alternates between Flo and Daisy who have been friends for awhile. Flo lives in the fabulous setting of Barcelona right in the heart of the city which couldn’t be any further from the rural village that Daisy lives in. I have to say I loved both settings. I could easily envision both and whilst Barcelona definitely had it’s temptations, I must say the cottage and small village where Daisy lives, won my heart.

Both women have come to a bit of a halt where their love lives are concerned. I loved the idea of the pair of them getting away from their problems in different countries to hopefully find the answers they are looking for. Something I’m sure we would all love to do from time to time.

This story has a real feel good vibe about it. There is quite a bit of humour in it which I enjoyed. Whilst the heart of it maybe romance, it’s also about women doing it for themselves. Daisy and Flo are quite different in personalities of which both love interests couldn’t be any further from each other also. I liked that each character very much had their own strong voice and I couldn’t help fall a little bit in love with both men that Daisy and Flo were falling for.

The Holiday Swap was an engaging and fun read. Some parts had me laughing whilst other parts made be go awe. I so enjoyed the blossoming relationships between both couples and it certainly kept me entertained. A great novel to pick up and enjoy at any time of the year.

A feel good chrissy read.
Love the Tippermere Village stories, love the animals, the scenery and the characters.

Who wouldn’t want a Hugo in their life!

Two friends having a hard time relationship wise, for different reasons, decide to swap houses for a month, in that month they both make some major decisions, learn different things, meet different people, and have a great time, what will happen at the end of the month swap.

Really nice book.
