Good premise and awesome cover art. However the book didn’t feel too fleshed out. There were a few misspelled words, formatting errors, and it felt a bit like I picked up a story halfway through. Maybe the movie is better than the book because this was a bit of a let down for me.

Totally awesome Halloween read! I can see why SK liked it so much :] it was weird and interesting and dark and not too predictable. I just had to tear through this one! Read half before bed and the other half next morning before work...so there was really only a six hour time period of this book being on my currently-reading shelf...that should tell you something right there.
2018: Reread this aloud nightly for Halloween. Ghe description and imagery are as amazing as the story and as remembered. The back road the licorice road and the scent of burning cinnamon---killer read and a must for the Halloween season

4.5 stars. The writing in this book was amazing and almost lyrical, very similar to Ray Bradbury. The imagery was so great and the story was intense and fast paced. I loved the unique plot. .
