I had to take a break for a few months, because knowing everything from the beginning about what was going to happen made it less intriguing. I’ll give it a second chance one day, after some time has passed and I’ve forgotten a bit about the events of the 2nd book.

I loved that we got to stay in the Bridge Kingdom universe and follow another couple. I loved the action and seeing some of the previous events from different perspectives, and really the main issue keeping this from being a 5-star read for me is the pacing. This fell into the same pitfall as other romantasy I read where they don't edit the story down and you could feel where it slumped throughout.
Kerris and Zarrah are fantastic and I can't wait to see more of them. The new (ish) villain in this one is chilling in the best way.
