5+++ STARS
This book is so much more than I could have ever hoped for. I truly loved everything about it. From the ghoulish frights to the lustful romance.
I feel like I waited forever to have this story. Now that it's over, I want MORE!
I'm putting this book on my all-time favorites list, right alongside its EIT counterparts. <3 <3 <3
(for anyone who's not read the EIT series - don't worry - this one is a true standalone!)
Thank you to the author for allowing me to Beta read this fabulous book!

I give this one five stars because it got me out of my reading slump.
I've been feeling nothing lately...
I couldn't watch a movie, I couldn't read a book and I couldn't listen to music. Well, not couldn't but I didn't enjoy them as much.
So as I was rereading one of my favorite books, I came across this book by accident. And it was a new genre for me, I've never read anything like this as far as I can remember. So I didn't expect it to draw me in but it did. I stopped my rereading (which is a good thing cause my head wasn't in it) and I finished this book.
Can't say I regret it. :)

I just thought it was boring. I liked the romance. I didn’t get the plot. I’m not sure what they were going towards. It also felt like a sequel with how much they talked about events that happened in the past
2.5. Rounded down to 2.
Because, here's the thing, if an author promises that you don't need to read previous books in order to understand this one then I'm going to believe them. However, that's not true in this case.

dnf 39%, its moving too slow for me and the characters aren't keeping me intrested.
This book gets 5 stars just because it scared the shit out of me. I meant to do this review a week ago but, back to school has me running around like a chicken with my head cut of.
Why was I scared? Well the first half of my life I was raised that ghost and spirits are real, and the second half of my life I was grew up in the church. So I have a pretty good idea about the spiritual world and the devil.
Now do I believe in it, ahhh I'm on the fence, regardless this book was pretty accurate, and It freaked me out.
Romance takes a backseat. (To all my steam lovers, there is some) I say that but I loved Jay and I was able to feel the connection. It wasn't a bad thing, it just a thing that happened LOL
This is really about Ada and her journey. While I'm pretty sure there is a first book because I feel like I was missing something with her sister and bother in law, but no thing.
Great writing, unexpectedly good, I should keep going into books was an open mind, and zero expectations, It seems to be working out for me. :)

I don't know why but I just can't seem to get into Halle's books. Her writing is good but, the plot for me seems used up in most demon paranormal books...

I love the Experiment in Terror series and I am so glad that [a:Karina Halle|4785031|Karina Halle|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1595957874p2/4785031.jpg] is writing more novels in the Palamino/Foray/Jacob world.
I really enjoyed Ada's story. Karina Halle managed to make her voice completely different than Perry's but her story is just as compelling. I can't wait for the next book.

This book didn't feel like it was "for me" at first, but it hit a stride and now that it's over I'm wanting to continue the story.
5/5 stars!
I loved the EIT series and I loved Dex and Perry. I wasn't sure if I could like Ada and Jay just as much. However, it was great to be back in this universe again and I loved every minute of it.
There's a cameo of Dex and Perry (love Dex!), there are Jacob's, there's creepy freaky stuff, there is romance, there are sexy times... it has it all. I was sad when Dex and Perry left, but I actually enjoyed Ada's story just as much. Jay is interesting and seems really hot and a bit alpha, but he hasn't quite reached book boyfriend level yet. Being in Ada's head was suprisingly fun and entertaining and I didn't really miss Perry all that much.
This book was a total suprise for me! I didn't think it would ever happen. But it has and I couldn't be happier. Please let there be more books!

FYI: You'll probably want to read the Experiment in Terror series before you read this book, as this book will spoil the series for you and the series is too great to not read to begin with!
