so incredible
Definitely a 4.5. Would have been a 5 star if I hadn’t figured out the twist early. But the other twists had me in a chokehold. I devoured this book. Heartbreaking and twisty and beautifully written.

This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! I love what St. James does with her books where you’re not quite sure where it’s going but have the feeling you need to get there now. The dual time lines and multiple POV just helps with keeping you on the edge of your seat. I could feel the creepiness of the school oozing off the page which made me want to stop reading and get to the end simultaneously. St. James is an auto buy for me!
3.5. I read this book based on a recommendation by my friendy Brandon for my 12 in 12 recommendations! I enjoyed it and it was entertaining for most of the book, but it reminded me so much of The Book of Cold Cases... maybe it's just the author's vibes. This is only my seconf book by Simone St James so it may be the case. I did not feel attached to any of the characters except the FMC, Fiona. I was happy with the 'who done it' reveal in her storyline but I will not say why for fear of spoilers. I listened to this mostly via audio and I think it was well done. Thank you, Brandon for your recommendation!

Really good book! I loved the 1950s storyline and the paranormal aspect was interesting, though I wish there was more. The 2014 storyline was a bit predictable, and none of the twists were suprising, but enjoyable nonetheless.
It had the right amount of creepy, but the twists weren’t that clever. The story was paced well, though.
