i was hesitant to read this book because i am not particularly fond of contemporary romances, but add in a shakespeare retelling and it was just such a sweet and cute rom com. jamie is the definition of "in a world of boys, he's a gentleman" and i found myself relating a lot to bea. this romance was full of sweetness and understanding, and i thought it had a really good conversation on damaging relationships that added a lot of depth to the story. overall, it was the perfect book to read in autumn, and such a heartwarming love story. an easy 5 stars for me :) ⭐️.

Parts of this book were good, autistic representation and anxiety, thoughtful inclusion. However I needed more reasons to care about the characters. The plot was a bit too contrived hold the weight of an invested romantic story line.

I absolutely love Jamie and Bea, they are wonderful, funny characters and it was so much fun following their love story.

The only thing that bothered me was the third act break-up. I didn't see the reason for it. You can't suffer enough to make someone else happy. So giving up your own happiness, won't make someone else feel better.

That aside, it was a beautiful story and a wonderful journey to be on with those lovely characters.
