Dated plot that didn’t age well, poor pacing, flat characters.

Despite some of the inconsistencies in the book (that could have been fixed by a good editor), I did really enjoy the book. The character was somewhat likable and I could relate to some of the stuff she was struggling with, but not quite enough to REALLY love the book. Like I said, there were some weird errors and inconsistencies.

About two fraternal twin sisters and their struggles. Also read this book at the beach and it was a great book for a beach read.

I had to wait close to four months for this book to come off hold at the library, but it was worth the wait. The characters are compellingly messy and the plot, while not terribly original, held my attention. The one complaint I'll make is that I would have liked the sisters' relationship to get worse before it got better - so much of the conflict is in Lindsey's head. However, the author did a wonderful job of showing the complexity of relationships and how we become who we are.

So, I downloaded this back in March when I first heard of Sarah Pekkanen however, I didnt actually start reading it until last night. I actually read the entire thing, last night. Super easy read, with characters that were actually developed and a storyline you wanted to follow. There were parts that I glazed over, but only because I wanted to finish it so I could go to bed. If you are looking for a good beach read, this is one you should pick up.

I really liked this book and love the author's writing style. Some of the things that Lindsey said while narrating really made me laugh. This story was funny and heartfelt all in one.
Spoiler I am so happy that Lindsey and Alex were able to get to know each other much better by the end of the book. I was also happy that Lindsey found her happy ending with Matt.
. I will definitely be picking up Pekkanen's next book soon!

This was such a nice change of pace for me, just s story of two sisters, and finding yourself, and uplifting other women. I throughly enjoyed the experience.

This book was recommended to me by a friend who read it in middle/high school and remembered loving it—she may have set my expectations too high. I found it pretty hard to empathize with the main character for most of the book, but it did pick up at the end and have a good message. Overall, a good enough read that I don't regret having read it, but it personally wasn't my cup of tea.
