Let me start by saying the end was great I need to know who was a at the door. So with that being said can't wait to start the second one. I only had one problem with this book and that is it's hard to get attached to any characters beside the main one because....
Spoiler Alert!!!
Everyone else does left and right. So as soon as you say "Hey I like this guy" Boom! He's dead. So it made it a hard finish for me.

I didn't finish this book. I got almost 200 pages and I figured if I was still annoyed by the main character that far into the book, it was time to give up. I thought that the origin of vampires was really different and cool. But the MC just bugged me. I liked her about as much as I like any other character who seems lacking in personality completely. I just couldn't care or relate to her or anyone else in the story. I tried.
It was a fantastically crazy book, full of twists and turns that I did not suspect. I haven't started to read the rest of them, but when I do. .. I'm not gonna stop until they are all done.

I think that the general plot could be a hood story. However, I have issues with the execution of said plot. I have no doubt that the author is probably quite talented, but this book was just plain boring. The main character comes off as arrogant and full of herself, and not in a "arrogant bastard you love to hate but still root for" way. I realize that she's been alive for a long time and therefore has had time to perfect many skills, but does she have to be a master at EVERYTHING? I didn't actually finish this version, I read the first two books in the collection and got too bored.
