ngl celeste annoyed me for most of this and i loved zane

This book had so much potential but I think it fell a little flat when she kept dodging around the conflict and even the resolution felt lackluster.
It was a cute read in the beginning though. And I'm glad they could work it out in the end.

I was really torn on the rating for this as I really felt it could have been 5 stars and probably deserved it, but in the end went for personal preference!

So my main thing, is I don't like long history bits where you are just waiting for the epic falling out. I find it too stressful! Despite the first bit of the book being lovely and really quite happy, because of the anticipation I found the whole book quite heartbreaking.

It's a beautiful story, and the ending is magic and perfect and wonderful. So the star drop is literally just my personal preference in tropes and things and this will always be one of my favourite authors!

Do be prepared for a lot of upset in this one though...

This book was another success for Catharina Maura in my opinion however I do believe this was my least favourite book from her.

It is filled with tropes we love, but it also felt unique. The use of the past and present and the twist and turns worked well. And I will happily admit I teared up. I thought Zane and Celeste were great characters and I was invested in their story. I loved them so much in their past, they had great chemistry and I loved seeing the relationships build with his siblings and her family (hoping for an Archer book!

had me on the edge of my seat and i couldn’t stop reading

2.5✨

This book actually started off so good. Here I was thinking it’ll be a 4 or 5 star read. But all good things must come to an end. Or is it “if it’s too good to be true it usually is” how the saying goes? It was so cute how they were falling for each other and how he noticed her nail polish reflected her moods. But first off, he hardly grovelled. He tormented her throughout their childhood years and then 5 years later he said he wants to shoot his shot… without the grovelling. Then everything goes down with Lily. 5 more years later and he’s out to destroy her for destroying him? I just can’t fathom how unfair that was. I definitely want to know what went down with grandma Anne and grandpa Harrison. All the drama really started because of them and then they want to come in and save the day because they see how unhappy their grandchildren are.

She was grieving her friend but it was her fault because she didn’t believe a word he said. I’m sorry, but after experiencing something as traumatic as watching your friend kill herself after saying she dated her man, she has every right to feel betrayed and hurt. At one point I thought he didn’t know about the diary, but he did just not the letter. After knowing, he should have realised it was a misunderstanding. The blame should not have been solely on her shoulders.

She really gets treated like shit for like 60% of the book while he got off Scott free. AND THEN she grovels?! I’ve never experienced so much whiplash before. They love each other, they hate each other and it goes back and forth soooo much I ended up just being confused and annoyed. She really deserved so much more. Ok I get she was out to destroy his company and put him in jail. But the way he was acting and that scene with the botanist. Who wouldn’t feel the way Celeste did? The way he said “don’t do this again” “trust me believe me” while you let that woman in the observatory and banned Celeste from being in it. lmfao sorry but Celeste’s reaction could have been so much worse. And rightfully so because my anger issues could not. Trust needs to be earned and goes both ways. Again her best friend killed herself for being in love with you. She died. Traumatic to say the least.

When he hates her and says he can’t be with her for years and then there’s a change of heart after they spend weeks at the island. Coming back to reality being madly in love… that transition didn’t feel natural at all. But it’s cute, them still being each others first after all this time.

There’s always something in Catharina Maura books that just rubs me the wrong way. But in saying that ending was sooo good! Seeing a glimpse of Lex and Sierra and their respective partners! I’m so excited for Sierras story ever since I read the first book in this series and wanted her and Xavier to end up together. And Lex being the comedian, getting to see him have a taste of his own medicine. I have high hopes for their books because they were the standouts in the others books. Even though I give low ratings I enjoy these books. It’s just a few things that ruin it for me. This book could have been 200 pages shorter and still get the points across. Maybe cut out the middle bit, then I’d be giving a totally different review.

amazing

Wow what a roller payer ride! I fell in love with this series earlier this year and year again Catharina Maura does not disappoint. Zane and Celeste store is full of hope and heart ache all in one. They always say Love and Hate are two sides of the same coin and this book demonstrates that perfectly. Add this book to your TBR right now! You won’t be disappointed.

wtf was that. Absolutely chaotic.
fast-paced

While I do not believe a relationship can survive with this much doubt and insecurities seeping in, I understand. I loved them together when they were not tearing each other down.
