Zane loved Celeste and would do anything for her. The beginning of this book were they first try and make so many great memories was so great but the best part for me was when all the boys got on there knees to ask Grandma Anna to let Zane marry Celeste, the love they have for each other and would do anything for each other. It did break me when Celeste didn't believe him after what Lily told her. But pain and hurt do cloud your mind and wont let you see thing clearly. The passion was always there for Zane and Celeste but trust is a hard thing to gain back. Like that instead of the it begin the guy fucked up it was the girl this time and she had to make a mends and apologize and earn his trust again. Happy they got their happy ending.

Trust this author to write a book with so many twists and turns as to give us whiplash! Zane’s and Celeste’s story is full of back and forth hate and love episodes, starting from when they were school kids and Zane used to bully her. Under all that hate was love, of course, but the scars were hard to get rid of. During the course of this book, they did a lot of harm to each other, and underneath all that war of revenge, was a very strong and passionate love. Trust and jealousy work hand in hand to make this a very angsty and riveting story.
I was mostly angry at Celeste, she trusted in the words of others and didn’t listen to her instincts, thus causing a lot of harm and then suffering with the consequences. I felt for Zane who repented from his bullying years but didn’t get the redemption he needed. I loved all the family around them, with their banter, poker days, high fashion dressing, family dinners. There were lost friendships, reconciliations, bad grandparenting, and financial high stakes warfare. As with all books by this author, it was very satisfyingly angsty!

This took me a long time to read. I started it back in April and got maybe 20% in before I got seriously bored and put it down for a while. I would occasionally pick it up here and there but honestly, I recently managed to finish it all - five months later.
For me, the story kicks off in part two. I feel like part one was rushed even though there were so many time skips. I think it’s because of those that I never really believed that Zane and Celeste were in love. I just never made a connection with them.
Then, part two happened.
I can say that it was a bit better than part one mostly because of the cliffhanger part one left us with and because I was trying to figure out what was going on most of the time. But still, I can’t say this couple did it for me.
Honestly, I feel like they shouldn’t even be endgame.
The things they did and said to one another were kind of unforgivable and let’s not even add the fact that they really do not trust one another as they both have mentioned.
I don’t know, this was kind of a letdown and the only reason I even finished it was for Sierra’s book.
