I love this story. I couldn’t put it down! Just when you think “Eh, I could stop here, one more page though..” and then BOOM! Plot twist. I have never read anything like it in all its glorious originality! It has very strong Sci Fi/Fantasy/Romance elements to it, and if you marginally like any of those genres, this book is for you!

I love all of the characters! They were written so well, it was very easy to become emotionally invested in all of them, even the ones you don’t really like. I personally don’t find it hard to follow a lot of characters, whereas my husband can’t even handle watching so many characters in the Game of Thrones series.

In the previous book, The Guardian, the focus was on the two main characters Elizabet and Jareth. In this second installment, there were many more diverse and intricately written characters! Oh, and everyone brings the sass. I love the sass. There were so many times that I could picture Jareth rolling his eyes at Jeremy’s teen angst. It was great. Teenagers. The rebellious angst. The abundant sass.

The story does have a main focus on the developing romance between Jeremy and Beau as well as the impending attacks from Dover’s enemies. Beau was such a brat half the time, but I loved her. She’s not a boring character, that’s for sure! There were some very angsty scenes, but I was really glad that these two characters had phenomenal communication to work things out! How refreshing! It seemed almost too responsible how mature they could be when they worked through their discord. I found a couple of their romantic teasing and Beau’s brattiness scenes a little long, but they were still cute. Overall, they were so adorable to read about. I loved their dynamic and how lovingly patient Jeremy was with her. It was both cheesy and heartwarming. What adorable lost little cinnamon buns, both of them.

I really appreciated the explanation of how the hosts are caused by different storms. I don’t recall it be explained very much in The Guardian, I may have missed it, but I do remember readers having questions about the host/guardian relationship and they were all answered! I love that the author kindly took her readers into consideration and provided them with information to better understand the story.

The plot was suspenseful and surprising. It caught me off guard at the end where it picks up very quickly. So much action! Deceit! Betrayal! A death (noooooooo)! More time traveling! Ah! So good! The author’s writing is so wonderful and it’s only getting better!

Final verdict: Solid 4 stars! The ending was the best!

Review of Category Jeremy by Elizabetta Holcomb!
Soooooo Category Jeremy came out on the 1st of June and my copy was an ARC that I received from the author for a review.
I want to start with the rating this time. When I reviewed The Guardian, the first book of the Chronicles of Dover's Amalgam, I gave it a 3.5/5 stars, but to Category Jeremy I feel like giving it a well deserved 4.5/5 stars. And let me explain why. First of all I liked the fact that in this second book the main characters are different from those of book one. Jeremy and Beau are way more... genuine in their relationship than Jareth and Elizabet were and I loved that. I love their story, I love the unique way through which they communicate and I just love them. I just love Jeremy. My love. My host. Ahhhh ok I have to continue writing this review, I can't stop here.

As usual, the setting was amazing, I love time travel and all that comes with it (even Huns... nah joking), both the positive and the negative aspects of it.
The thing that kept me from giving this book a 5/5 stars is that everything that really matters, that really gives the story a deeper meaning, happens at the end and this can make the reading a bit slow, but still I really really really really really really enjoyed it.

Plus... I think I heard something about a third book!!! Awwwwww can't wait to read it!!
If you haven't yet, you should totally pick Category Jeremy up and if you missed the first chapter of the story, go buy your copy of The Guardian now!

Actual rating: 4.5 stars

"As children, they protected their bond, and now he had come to terms with the fact they were grooming to be made for each other. To belong to one another". -Jeremy

Honestly, I have never read a book about time traveling and such, but I really enjoy this series!
Jeremiah Cameron Tremaine (Jeremy) is an innocent boy that is in love with Beau, and are not like other boys. I liked Jeremy's innocence and personality, and he is probably one of my favorite characters! I really liked Jeremy in the first book, The Guardian, and this made it easier for me to read and enjoy. Just Jeremy being a part of the series, makes me want to give this book 5 stars.
We get to know more about Dover and the hosts and guardians. Many questions were answered during the book, and I think it was good it was mentioned and answered now. It made it a lot easier to read and enjoy. This book took me less time than the first one: Category Jeremy certainly got a lot of action and plot twists! Really loved CJ, and will continue this series.
I am SOOOOO happy Jeremy and Beau actually get to marry each other! Solomon is the main character in the next book, looking forward to meet him then!

Title: Category Jeremy (Chronicles of Dover's Amalgam #2)
By Elizabetta Holcomb
Genre: Romance & Time Traveling
Age category: Young Adults

Blurb:
Jeremiah Cameron Tremaine Within the body of Jeremy is a weapon of mass destruction. Being the strongest host in Dover’s Amalgam, he is a hurricane of a class all by himself. The strongest host alive. Living between two time periods: one life in medieval Dover and the other in modern Louisiana, England, and the Cayman Islands, he finds life becomes a cluster of unfortunate events that bring him face to face with the girl he left behind. Beau Angelle Benoit Eight years ago, something happened to Jeremy. After being lost in Hurricane Libby, Beau was there when they found him naked, half starved, and surrounded by dead animals. She could hear him speaking without ever opening his mouth and when he touched her, she could feel the energy he contained. But instead of trusting her with his abilities, he left her to face government officials who probed her mind and a town that thought her a lunatic. Reunited Jeremy is back in his hometown of Gueydan, Louisiana to help with church reform and to dismantle host formation as the dawn of mega storms comes to the south coast. When he sees that Beau is in need of hero, he is more than happy to be that person. Wanting to see her reputation restored, he will do anything to make right the wrongs he is responsible for in her life—even if it means to lie to her so he can protect her from becoming a target for the enemies of Dover. The Hun’s are back and forming an army of host of its own, plowing down anyone that stands in their way of power and complete control of Dover’s Amalgam.

My though:

Lovely book! I didn't enjoy it as much as the first book, but it was really good. As always does Elizabetta write in her own style. Her books are always unique. I loved how she described the new characters we were introduced to in the second book. This book had a lot of plot twist that I didn't expect. That made me want to read more. Still, it was very hard for me to finish this book... I suppose it was because of my crappy mood.

Buy or not to buy: go and buy it!

Stars: 4/5

“Yay. It's so fun being me.”

Category Jeremy, the second book in the Chronicles of Dover's Amalgam, another great book by Elizabetta Holcomb. While Book 1, The Guardian focuses more on the main characters, Jareth and Elizabet, how they met and their love relationship, Category Jeremy focuses more on Jeremy and Beau and all the journey they go through. I have to say I loved book 1 and even though book 2 introduces us to these new characters but somehow it helps to have a better understanding on what previously happened and at the end what to expect next in the story. As I mentioned before, I love the Author's writing style and her ability developing characters and world building. I think is fascination how through her writing she can transport us to the world she wants to show us, the story intended to be told. A great addition to the Series which I totally recommend and cannot wait to read the next book.

Many, many thanks to the Author, Elizabetta Holcomb for kindly send me a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
