Can I just start off with saying Wow Trish. You left me speechless at the end and maybe a little heartbreak as well. But all in all, I'm in love with Ichor. If you are a fan of Greek Mythology, then this is the perfect book for you.

Trish did an exceptional job with staying true to the Gods & Goddesses and made my love for mythology grow even more. I love how Hermes was one of the MMC in Ichor. Hermes does get left out a lot in books as a MC because he is not considered a main God or an Olympian, he's just the messenger. But man, does Hermes have my heart. Let's not forget that the FMC, Saffron, is a true badass. Even though she may be scared from time to time she learns not to back down from a fight. She trusts her heart and her instinct even if it doesn't seem like the right move.

I'm excited but also nervous to see where this story goes. It leaves off on cliffhanger that has me itching out of my skin for the next book.

I devoured this book. It was so engrossing and well-written. This was such an original take on Greek mythology! In this world, humans are mere playthings for the deities, who acquire them upon victory in an arena. The deities battle one another for the humans, who may be bid upon following their 18th birthday.

Saffron is different from the other humans and has had dreams for the last 2 years. These dreams describe the various deities and their powers.

In the arena, Ares fights for Saffron, and wins. He means to end her life to remove her as a temptation. He discovers she is part deity and she heals herself. As he is processing the information, other deities arrive and whisk her away to stay with Hermes. Hermes is much nicer than she was expecting, so she is conflicted when her dream voice reveals a plan to usurp the deities. The dream voice is a nearly forgotten deity named Epiales, who is working with Kronos, a titan, to end the deities.

Now Saffron has to decide if she wants to help Kronos and Epiales.... or will she choose Hermes?

Tbh when I first saw that it is another book based on greek mythology and with the prompt that the gods enslaved humanity, I was suspicious about it, but it was good!

The story works, the explanations are good and I love how detailed everything is. Even the deity descriptions feel very fitting.

My only criticism is that sometimes the explanations feel like lore dumps and it jumps a bit to the next plot point. But since it's just the first one of an upcoming trilogy, there is room for improvement.

I really wanted to like this book. It had an excellent premise but somehow ended up boring and predictable. All the characters including the main heroine were unlikable.

DID NOT FINISH: 58%

I found the main character cringe and without much depth. The plot has potential, but is not executed correctly

I saw this book on TikTok and when I heard it's about Greek mythology I was sold. I got this book on KU, but I am getting myself a physical copy because I need it.

Ichor is this amazingly written fantasy book that is filled with Greek mythology in a way no other book has been so far (at least from the books that I've read). The writing in this one is EVERYTHING. We get descriptions that are so detailed and oh my gosh the battle scenes are to die for. As a huge fan of reading battle related books, I have to say that this book has one of my favorite battle scenes ever.

The characters have a great development and I really liked how the FMC interacted with the gods and humans. Each of the gods were so well described with all their attributes and stories. It was really fun to read about them.

Overall, this book is amazing and if you like Greek Mythology you just simply need to read it. It is a dark book so make sure to check out TWs before picking it up. I honestly can't wait to get my hands on the sequel.
