I loved the motif of showing one’s belly to others.
I feel like at the start I didn’t really understand why Tom and Ming were together and fell in love in the first place but looking back that was a brilliant way to show them growing as people and was also realistic because you just drift towards people and then you can also just find yourself in a situation and wonder how or why you’re there. Like Ming realising she needs to transition or Tom realising he’s in a job he hates. I really enjoyed Dinan’s writing and want to read her latest book.

I really enjoyed that they ended as friends.
