This twisty thriller kept me on my toes more than I expected. Just when I thought I had the plot figured out, it delivered a surprise that caught me off guard. The writing is sharp, and while I disliked nearly every character for one reason or another, it felt like an intentional choice for the story. The pacing was uneven for me. Around halfway, I was ready for a big finale... and then it just kept going. The extended wrap-up wore on, turning what could have been a snappy, satisfying conclusion into something that dragged. I appreciate a thorough ending and love a well-done epilogue, but this wasn’t that for me. The premise was solid, the reveals effective, and it delivered a few rewarding shocks. Not quite a favourite, but worth the read if you like a layered deception.

If you’ve read a few physiological thrillers / noirs you’re going to guess the plot for this pretty early on to be honest. The rest of the book is then watching it unfold.
Incredibly far fetched, but a quick easy read

A Decent 3.25 Star*
First Wife's Shadow was a hot mess but overall, a good read. This story is about a woman who is a wealthy corporate girly that lives in a mansion in the woods. Floor to ceiling windows/glass house type of style home. She lives alone and is a single busy lady. She meets this guy who is the MMC, and they hit it off quickly. The MMC lets her know that he is a new widower and she feels weird about it initially, but he draws her in, and she pushes it to the side, like on a daily. He constantly makes excuses and puts his late wife as the reason for the excuse. The FMC's girlfriends are feeling like he's using her for her money and now the FMC is thinking his late wife is haunting her.
This book has a quick, easy and chill pacing. I would say it's more of a slow burn and as it continues it begins to get nutty. I enjoyed this story and how the author wrote it, but I did feel like it was sort of just "Ok". It didn't give me anything that made me want to stay up all night reading it. I feel like it had potential but once it got to the main twist it fell flat for me.
If you enjoy domestic thrillers, I recommend this one if you are new to reading thriller and you just want like some "Lifetime Movie" style drama.
