I love this book as this is when the tone starts to mature
Yet another great installment in the Harry Potter series. The series is more of a mystery to me than a fantasy novel. I find that to make the series more enjoyable for me to read. Nice twist at the end of this book. On to #4.
IF YOU'VE NEVER READ THIS BOOK YOU SHOULD PROBABLY NOT READ THIS REVIEW. SPOILERS ARE IN HERE BUT PEOPLE WHO HAVE READ THE ENTIRE SERIES (I do talk about foreshadowing in later books!) FEEL FREE TO READ & ENJOY THE WONDERFUL REVIEW OF MY REREADING EXPERIENCE.
-------
God, rereading this one was fantastic. I've been rereading the entire series & guys, this one's a great one. Granted, I'm the type who thinks whatever book I read next in the series is my favorite. This one is a good one. My only gripe may be that there wasn't a fight with Voldemort. Like what if everyone saw that Black was good because he saved HArry's life from him or something? I don't know. I like the book as is, just pondering, you know.
I remember in elementary school this being several student's faves in my class. This book definitely gets darker than the others with great new characters (Aunt Marge- what a crazy hilarious bitch!, Lupin- AMAZING character who was kind, thoughtful, and helped Harry, Black- who was AMAZING & wonderful & I'm so glad Harry discovered a link to his parents, and Pettigrew- a little piece of shit.) Also I LOVE reading the history of Harry's parents & Snape. It fascinates me & I am so HAPPY that J.K. Rowling made Harry's father not the most perfect person ever. Because while Harry is awesome, we do see slight hints of arrogance & sometimes he's a whiny little priss & the fact that James was not perfect makes this series completely realistic. Besides, you know, the magic.
Also the dynamics between Hermione & Ron in this book are perfect. They spend mass majority of the book fighting, which again makes it realistic. But in the end, they are best friends & this reminded me that just because I have one or several fights with my friends doesn't necessarily mean the friendship is doomed. AND RON & HERMIONE'S future are TOTALLY FORESHADOWED AHHH!H!!!!! He looks so impressed with her for slapping Malfoy & for.. God, what else was it, attacking Snape? I don't remember. But you can totally see the sexual tension starting to happen & I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. Also, Fred & George are perfect as usual.
Hmm.. what else. I don't know. I love this book. I love this series. It's weird that I'm rereading the entire series in my junior year of college but you know, I've had several people say "GREAT book choice" and I'm like YEAH SUCK ON THAT I'M NOT A TYPICAL BITCH READING 50 SHADES OF GREY WHADDUP.
Not that there's anything wrong with 50 Shades of Grey... I just don't like it at all. I'm getting off topic.
I strongly urge my friends to reread these gems if you have a chance. I'm taking a break from reading new books right now because I feel it's bringing me back to my childhood & reminding me of what's really important in life- loyalty, friendship, believing in yourself, & to only catch the Snitch if you are 50 points ahead. & Cho Chang is hot.
Happy reading guys.

Whenever I reread Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, it feels like revisiting an old memory that has never faded. Out of all the books, this one has always been my favorite, and over time it’s become so much more than just a story — it’s a touchstone. There’s something about the atmosphere of this book that lingers with me: the chill of the Dementors, the thrill of secret passages, the haunting beauty of time turning back on itself. But what makes it unforgettable is the heart at its core. Harry discovering pieces of his parents’ lives, the fragile hope of belonging, the comfort of friends who never let him face the darkness alone — those moments stay with me long after I close the pages. Reading it again now brings back not just the suspense and wonder, but also the feelings I had the very first time I turned its pages. It’s a reminder of why I fell in love with this world in the first place, and why Prisoner of Azkaban will always hold a place in my heart that no other book can quite reach.
