I'm glad I stuck with it. The book was slow to get going and in some places downright odd. But I enjoyed it at the end a lot more.

I really enjoyed the majority of the book, especially the ending. I took me by surprise!
But i didn't enjoy the first half of the book. It was a bit too slow for me, and it was dragged out a lot. The book could be a lot shorter. I am still going to read the next book, since i know Strikes background and so on, so I think the next book will be better.

I got to page 132. It was boring and I decided to give up. Unfortunately it's not my cup of tea.

loved it! only wished Cormoran Strike was actually described at least pleasant, the picture in my head is far from Tom Burke!!!

"Robert" did a phenomenal job with "his" "first" book. The characters were extremely human (to the point where I cringed reading the early bit about Strike moving in to his office). It wasn't entirely obvious who the killer was until the very end, although I had a hunch. The entire book is written with the same wealth of detail that I loved in the Harry Potter series.

I must admit I have read better free books on my kindle from amazon. I got this as a free audio from Amazon and I am extremely glad I did.

I like crime novels, and conversation is needed in a book. This on the other hand was nothing but conversation with very little action and suffered because of it. Oh and the swearing was over the top and unnecessary on the whole.

I like my crime novels with a lot more action, this was just not for me and I was relieved when it was over.

This is such a good read and I wasn't expecting it to be who it was that killed Lula but it was very interesting and once I got into the story I was hooked.
I love it was set in London England and that there is so much depth to Strike
