Beautifully written and with so much love around a devastating time.

Meh.

The book was mostly Julia's story and her search for Sarah, rather than Sarah's story. That disappointed me. I also didn't care for how the first half of the book (approximately) alternated chapters between Julia & Sarah (also didn't like that for about the first half of the book Sarah was referred to as "the girl"). And I have to say that Julia's motivation for continuing with the search really just pissed me off. Very selfish of her rather than thinking of how the news of Sarah would affect the people she told. She just assumed that since she new Sarah's story, others would want to know too. Of course, in the end, the author wraps that up nicely.

So basically, it could have been much better. I didn't hate it. I just didn't love it. I won't bother recommending it people (except to get rid of the copy I bought...)

Chilling...read it in one day.

although it's a beautiful story, it was, unfortunately, poorly written with the lack of strong narration. 3.5 stars

Good read, got through most of it on flights. Felt rushed at times. I will say the twist isn't quite what I thought it was going to be. But as compared to others of the genre I've read recentlyy, not quite as good.
