Eh this wasn't my favorite. Saw this on a list to read if you want more White Lotus, but it didnt have any of the aspects I find unique in white lotus. Like murders at an exclusive hotel/club... sure.... but this was good to crochet to.

It took me a minute to get used to the narrative style - instead of chapters, each section is a portion of a day through 5 different characters perspectives and motives, and these are broken up by an ongoing magazine piece reflecting on the events of the novel (and adding to the suspense).

Each character has unique stories and motivations, and developments happened that I didn’t see coming at all. No one comes out of this a “good guy,” but some characters come out of it having grown more than others, which felt realistic in this unattainable world of celebrity
mysterious

It was like Hunting Party and Midnight Feast combined. It didn’t wow me, felt like a standard, not bad mystery novel.

So much lead up and setting the story up. I felt nothing really started happening til almost 70% through the story. Once things start happening, though, they really start happening!! Great weaving of characters in the end and very satisfying conclusion.
mysterious slow-paced

No star rating from me because I wasn't paying attention for most of the book... that's on me though, that's on me.
