It was hard to rate this one because I started the book, got halfway in before I had to return it on libby and wait 2 months to listen to again; in that time I forgot how the book made me feel.
I'm not a huge fan of longer chapters and these are definitely longer ones.
If you like the debauchery/scandals/crimes of the rich and famous, murder and blackmail, this book might be for you.

Kind of ridiculous but an engaging plot with some twists.

Listened to this on audiobook. LOVED IT! Perfect thriller and enough plot twists to have me guessing!!!

This was ok. That’s as far as I’m going. It had a TON of buildup that was almost anticlimactic. So many characters that alternated POV so I wondered if I needed a chart to keep track. The idea of the Home is a different setting premise and I liked that part of it. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this copy for review

This book has a few things that are a little unusual but that is also what makes this book so entertaining. It is a little slow to get going but once everything starts it is definitely worth sticking with. I also liked the added clips from articles of what really happened on the island. The author did a great job of bringing all of the layers and connections together. Definitely a slow burn mystery with some nice twists and turns!

Thank you Harper for sharing this book with me!

I think I was expecting more from this book. It felt very slow throughout, and I thought it would pick up or get more interesting.

It was really hard for me to connect to these characters

Ned and Adam Grooms built a world for celebrities and have finally found their place among some of the world’s most rich and famous. Together they created a franchise of hideaway clubs in the world’s most beautiful destinations. The attraction for their patrons is the promise of seclusion away from paparazzi—a place they can retreat. But what is the cost that these celebrities pay to enter into this exclusive club? Is it more than their disposable funds? In creating this haven for the most well-known faces in the world, Ned and Adam have also guaranteed their own stardom as they make themselves comfortable in the fallout zone of the most discreet secrets show business has to tell. With the opening of their newest club just off the coast of England, the most elite members arrive with a promise of a good time. But not everyone lives through the inaugural week to tell about it.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

This was a fun thriller. I enjoyed the mixed writing styles of the authors. I am glad I looked into "Ellery Lloyd" before I read the book because I think I might have otherwise been confused by certain aspects of the character writing. Knowing that both a man and a woman are the curators of the story make it more rich in my opinion.

The Club is a thriller about a ultra-exclusive luxury club owned & run by brothers Ned & Adam Groom. They inherited the "club" from their grandfather, who had established the original in London as a salon for artists. Ned has big ideas and focuses on attracting only the most elite - Hollywood, Pop Stars, and has a knack for knowing who the next big thing will be before they break and enlisting them as members. The catch is that his prices are exorbitant. Oh, and SHADY things happen at the Club.

There are numerous locations, all for only the most elite members. The book focuses on the opening weekend of "Island Home", the most outrageously luxurious and long-awaited new property in the "Home" family. Somehow, opening weekend ends with 4 people dead and a list of questions longer than the queue to get in to the club

The story is told in turns by various employees of Home, and the duelling writers do much to all authenticity to both male and female voice and believable tone and attitude.

I really enjoyed this, and did not predict the ending. But with 4 mysterious deaths and competing story lines there was a lot to untie!

Great beach read! Highly recommended!
