Another highly anticipated book that, in my opinion, was a complete miss. There were too many characters and storylines I simply did not care about, and the article hinting at the mysterious big event did not compel me to read on. Boring, slow, and mostly predictable.

I enjoyed reading this book. It wasn’t your basic mystery/thriller which I appreciated. It follows a luxury exclusive hotel/ resort company, the CEO, some workers, and rich celebrity guests at a launch of a new island resort.The book is written in third person, following each major guest over the course of the nights leading up to the opening, and then present day news articles and interviews describing what happened the night of the launch.There were some juicy twists that I didn’t see coming, and it was something fresh and not overdone. I enjoyed the writing style of this book & would recommend as a thriller / palette cleanser or just a light beach read.

Keeps you engaged without being an exhausting thriller. Good plot lines, but so much irrationality it felt like a Shakespeare play. Tied up neatly at the end, but slightly anticlimactic. Still an easy and interesting read with enough twists to keep it fun.

The Club builds up the momentum slowly for the story to come together at the end. Its definitely not a fast paced thriller and has more of a literary with a rock and roll sort of vibe. This is a character rich novel and every character has a role to play with a story.
