It was pretty good. I mean, Reed. Damn-
I have only read a few novellas with plus-sized women and this one was pretty good.
It was a good quick one-sitting read and I finished it faster than I thought I would.

I had high hopes for this novella and was honestly a little disappointed. I think one of my main problems while reading this was the amount of times Reed called Juliet "Sweet Girl." If anyone used a "pet name" that often with me, I would tell him to get lost (but hey, that may just be my own personal issue.) Juliet is also a full figure character who loathes herself throughout the entire thing. Which I get, I too have body image issues and completely understand. But, I do think it was to the point that it was almost taking away from the "sexiness" aspect that this was supposed to be giving because of it. At no point did she seem empowered or in the moment, she was always thinking about how he was too good for her or how she hated her life and things about her body.
This was a short novella that was meant to be just spice. There’s not really a plot, and I honestly wasn’t expecting one. My biggest issue was with the FMC. Her lack of confidence became super annoying. Another reviewer said it felt like the whole reason her lack of confidence was being brought up was to make the reader excited or happy that the hot guy actually noticed or chose her, and I could not agree more.

This is a quick read, which is good since I absolutely paused reading another book to devour this when it dropped @ midnight.
It's another night at work for Juliet when the very handsome Reed walks in, he decides to buy a spicy book that sits at the counter. He comes back the next night to find that she is now reading the book and flirts with her. When he returns again while she's closing he makes it clear that he wants one night with her.
Love that Reed makes sire Juloet knows that he gives zero effs about her size. Absolutely love a man that appreciates a plus size beauty
Enter all the spice, it was a 3.5 for me but that is more cause the kinks are not all my thing. Different strokes for different folks, my 3.5 may be someone else's 4 or 5. I still enjoyed every bit of it and they are written well.
I wouldn't mind getting to see some more of Juliet/Reed!

- one POV (Juliet)
- BDSM
- 15yr age gap
Juliet & Reed meet at the sex shop where Juliet works & after a few visits Mr. Taylor stops by to offer her something she doesn’t want to refuse but seemed too real to be true.
“i’m not some boy. i’m a man and i want to f*ck you like one.”

I genuinely enjoyed how I related to juliet more than anything else. Especially this quote “I’ll need constant reassurance, and you’ll probably get sick of repeating yourself. And, no matter what you say or do, I’ll never believe it. I’ve hated myself for so long and have conditioned my brain to constantly be flipped to the negative and dreary setting” that really touched me.
We stan when FMC are in their mid to late twenties so we can feel they're relatable AF.
One Night Only was a hot, short read with plus sized/ fat rep and a FMC who speaks to our big babes insecurities. If you're not down for that, be warned now, because that is a prominent discussion here in this piece BUT our baby tells it as she sees is and rambles with the best of us. She's real, and her humour hit a very vulnerable piece of my soul.
Mr. Taylor is UHM a DADDY (not really, but like the VIBES). We loved it!
