I could not put this book down! Cupcake Brown's story is sad and tragic but inspiring as she faced the horrors of addiction and her rise to come out on top.

I am very picky about first person narrative, especially in biographies. However Cupcake's writing style is very simple and clear, so it is the type of book that is very easy to read and therefore for me a quick read.

I liked the way we are able to see Cupcake's transition to an innocent child to well...something far worse. The sheer amount of horrific events and circumstances of Cupcake's life make this book almost unbelievable. Ever since "A Million Tiny Pieces" I have been skeptical and almost wary of these types of hardcore memoirs. But I would not disagree that this book is a "real life story with frankness and intense honesty". I would recommend a looksee, if not a read.

Great memoir! This book has been on my bookshelf for awhile and I figured why not read it for National Women's Month. It's a true page turner because you want to see how Brown's life will unfold. The trauma is real, but the redemption is spectacular! Must read!

Such a positive, inspiring book. The author endured a lot from an early age until her mid 20s. She overcame many stumbling blocks. There were days where she wanted to give up but she kept pushing. Despite her faults, her determination outweighed her struggles. Thank you for sharing such an inspirational life, Ms. Cupcake Brown. You are the true meaning of life is a journey and you never know what’s in store for you.
