Not just a story about Ron Swanson. He crafts great stories about his days in the theatre, his woodworking, and his fantastic wife. He inserts his own opinions on how to live life but in a light hearted tone. The audiobook version was worth it for his giggle alone :)

*Audiobook* I enjoy Nick Offerman’s acting so I though I would love this book. While it was interesting, I found that it was a little boring at times. Maybe I wasn’t as interested in knowing more about him as I initially thought. A pleasant listen while driving though, so I do recommend it if you like him and want something nice to listen to. He narrates it himself.

Not enough funny. The illustrations are great, though.

This book is a joy, and was even better because I listened to Nick read the audiobook himself. The impression of Nick Offerman that I took away from his writing and narration is basically that he is a liberal Ron Swanson. He has his qualms with religion, but also with vegetarians. He is a ham, a stoner, and an actor, but he also loves woodworking and the great outdoors. Perhaps the best part of this book, however, are the passages when Offerman speaks of his wife. He speaks highly, and sometimes profanely of Megan Mullaley, and it’s hilariously endearing.
I highly recommend listening to the audiobook, but now I want to get a hard copy and reread it on my own time, it was that worthwhile and delightful.

Several people recommended this to me...and I just didn’t enjoy it.

This is a very entertaining book, as one would expect it to be. Part memoir, put guide to delicious living, it tell the story of the journey of a young man from Illinois to L.A....his discovery of his love for theatre, woodworking, luxuriant facial hair and his wife Meghan. It's well written, it would have probably been amazing as an audiobook, as you can hear the author's voice clearly through the writing. An enjoyable, sometimes hilarious, sometimes touching and often inspiring book.

Audible. Stared off slow but I was sad when it was over. They should teach Nick Offerman life advice in school at a young age. This guy is a stud.

Loved the call-outs to Minnesota and his fabulous tips for living. Back to nature, fewer screens, staying true to one's creativity, and making your life happy.
