Another great series from Shea
Yup, this is a wonderful 1st book in this series, Shea has done it again! This time we are not in the world of Wizards & Vampires, but the world of the fae Night Court, thrown into it along with Leila, a half fae, half humam, how will she handle it? Will an assassin be involved? What part, if any, could skeletal fae horses called Night Mares play? How many fae courts are there? What is the drink of choice of most fae? Will a hairless cat make an appearance in this story? This & many other questions will be answered, so read this book, dear reader, and to find the answers to these important questions.

Shocked is probably the best way to explain how I felt about this book. I didn’t expect to like it - especially with that awful cover that screams i’m a shitty book, but low and behold, I tried it and bloody loved it.
- The premise was unique and I felt like the author spent a clear amount of time putting thought and plotting into this book. The structure was great and the writing was good too.
- I liked our characters and felt like the book showed some good character development. I really like Lelia, she’s witty and strong willed and doesn’t bow down to anyone. Rigley makes me chuckle too.
- The direction of this book was really good and I am interested to find out what happens next.

I’m not going to lie, it starts pretty badly. I almost quit because everything seemed pointless and just very bad. But if you manage to go past the first 80ish pages it’s definitely good. Fun and light, just what i needed.
This is the kind of main female character that I love. Fearless, sassy and who doesn’t spare any punches. I definitely want more!!!
A lot going on
As this story went on, I got hooked! Has a lot going on politically in it and seems like that is to continue in book two. I hope to see a little romance snuck in there and also would like to see more magic performed as I continue. This one didn't touch it! Relationships are forming though and the way leilah climbed to the top made for an interesting read.
