This was a good book to the series. Leila was a fiesta half far, half human who had a sarcastic sense of humor. I enjoyed the characters and world this author created.

Amazing

It’s always impressive when an author is able to link her novels together to have that hidden depth. There wasn’t much romance between Rigel and Leila but I still am excited for the next book to see that romance blossom. I got some Princess Diaries 2 vibes with Leila having to find a husband. The night mares are amazing and I’m so glad they were a large part of the story!

It has Fae. A snarky half human, half Fae lead. An assassin. A kind Day Court king. Sound familiar? What more could I want in a series?!

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. There was decent character development, which is a must for me. I’m actually intrigued to see how the series ends.

Now onto the next!

I loved this book SO much. Leila is an incredibly sassy half fae who also happens to be smart and farm-girl strong. There were so many moments in the book where I laughed out loud or snorted and cheered her on. The satisfaction levels in some scenes are incredibly high. Would definitely highly recommend this book if you like urban fantasy and SASS.

Crown of Shadows (Court of Midnight and Deception #1) by K.M. Shea – The first book in the series was a freebie, but the series is on kindle unlimited as well. I do recommend that you read the Hall of Blood and Mercy series first because I bet it makes the world building easier to understand. I am going to back read that series next week. I’ve yet to meet one of Kitty’s books that I didn’t love, but this one took me a minute to wade into. Maybe because it felt like odds against Leila were just a bit too insurmountable. But you can’t help but cheer for this feisty queen, her entourage of creatures, and her very cranky court (especially the assassin who tries to take her out before she even has a chance to start). This one almost has Pride and Prejudice vibes with its enemies to …strange partners vibes. Happy Reading!
