Compelling story with accompanying imagery that really drove home some of the more somber moments. It’s really amazing to consider the several lifetimes of experience she had by the time she was a young teen, even moreso that her spirit seems to have persevered throughout.

i really loved the art style of this, it was so beautifully done. i enjoyed the chapter/vignette style of the entire graphic novel also. the way Satrapi described her experiences throughout this time period was engaging and heartbreaking. since finishing it, i feel like i left her dangling and alone and that takes a really special storyteller to be able to do that.
