It’s always fun to visit an author’s debut after finding their later work—you can see the seeds of what they gravitate towards, both in technical skill and seemingly personal interest. After devouring The Weight of Blood, I started Allegedly the very same day, and I was not disappointed. A moving story of identity, perseverance  hope, and mother's & daughters. Also: read the content warnings. Whew.

This is a dark and twisty one. It’s the type of book where you don’t know what the truth is—it keeps you questioning until the very last page. Around 60% is when I could not put it down. Definitely a trigger warning for infant death—the plot revolves around this.

Page turner for sure! Well written, suspenseful and the characters are engaging. I love when an author adds a dark twist that you don't expect. Great book! I'll be reading more by this author.

Tiffany. Tiffany. TIFFANY!!!! The way this book had me stressed. I listened to this on audio and kept clutching my imaginary pearls. I won't say much but THE ENDING!!!! Shout out to Bahni Turpin, the narration on this was top tier.
