This one is not for reading at the desk (unless you like crying in public I guess. To each their own) The Greatest Thing is beautiful and so lovely, but very very feeling heavy! Every so often you come across a protagonist you just desperately want to hug & Winifred falls right into that group for me. A perfect read for teens needing to be seen (& adults that might need that too), highly recommended.
An adorable and heartfelt tale about friendship. I really love how raw this story is. It’s honest about anxiety related to friendship. The questions of: do they like me? Oh god are they just putting up with me to be nice? I’ve felt all of those too at different points of my life. So I appreciate how relatable this book makes those feelings.
I also love how there’s miscommunication but not in a trope-y way. It’s really just people getting stuck in their heads and misunderstanding people’s intentions. All of the characters experience this in some way or another. And while friendships come and go, the memories remain.

What a gorgeous gem.
Growing up in that era and recognising the references was a delight. But where we lived in that time, things weren't like this, which must be why it's set in the US.
This journey of self-discovery starting from a place of self-hatred for three (at least) teens, and growing and learning and trusting and changing was delicious and raw and honest.
Very relatable and I wish books like this had existed at the time.

This was relatable but I didn’t really like how things ended up with the other two people. Idk
