We are back in the world of the dragons and I couldn't be more excited! Laith is the cool bar owner for the Kings and he is one of my favorites. There is just something about a hot guy who runs a bar. I don't know what it is, but that just appealed to me. His resistance to be pulled into the whole plan to help Iona is understandable. He feels the heat and he doesn't want to get pulled into the whole mate thing like the other Kings. But Iona is showing a preference to him and Con is pushing more and more for him to be the one to introduce her to their world.

Iona is struggling enough dealing with all her family beliefs crumbling around her, and the news of her obligation to the dragons could be the thing that totally breaks the camel's back.

As with the other females of this series, Iona proves to be a lot stronger and more capable than these dragons give them credit for. Iona holds up pretty damn well considering all the news that just keeps coming at her from the time she reaches Scotland. When the shit starts to hit the fan and the dragons finally see what they are up against, they will call on their allies for help. This part always confuses me a bit. The author once again pulls in characters from her other series, and I'm not really familiar with all their abilities and the relationships they all have.

One of the dragon kings is headed into a bad position. His storyline was started in Burning Desire and progresses through Hot Blooded. His story is next and after all he has been suffering through, I can't wait to see how he comes out at the end of this.

Another character I was dying to know more about makes an appearance, and the difference in this person, and what they are struggling with just mystifies me. I can't wait to see what direction that person is going to go!

The lines are being set. I'm excited for the next story, not only for our main couple, but to see the development of my favorite side characters as well.

This book was read in the four part serial format.

Iona is brought back to Scotland by the death of her father. She quickly realizes that things are not normal and she is now a protector one of Dreagon's secret. I really liked Iona. She was smart, beautiful but didn't flash it, and an amazing photographer (which I wish I was). She took all the supernatural info instride and didn't really freak out too much.

Laith was perfect for Iona. He was instantly attracted but didn't push her too far too quickly. He set the relationship at her pace and helped her cope with all the changes. I loved their relationship.

The Kings are still trying to determine who is targeting them, and now Iona. They face new attacks and new questions are raised. I can't wait to read Rhys book and see what is going on in his head.

I was prepared to not like this book. I really was but I was surprised by how much I actually loved it. Laith is one of my favorite dragons now! Iona I didn't like at first but she grew on me.

Iona is a photographer who travels all over the world taking pictures in dangerous situations. Her father was the man who owned/protected the land next to the Dragon Kings. He dies and she come stop Scotland to bury him and sell his things. She has zero intentions of staying long. Then she meets Laith. They have an instant connection. Not just a lusty attraction but a connection on a deeper level. They want to know everything right off the bat. Neither of them wanted to fall in love but things happen.

This book is full of action, secrets and two people slowly falling in love. OH and the warriors play a big role in this book!! I miss them and LOVE when they get involved.

This book was not what I expected. It's interesting the developments that happened to the overall series arc in this book. It's been slow-developing but I'm interested to see what happens next.

Is it crazy that I was more focused on Lily and Rhys?? I love Laith, but for some odd reason, watching Rhys struggle and make a life changing decision, made me wish the book kept going.

And let's not forget about Rhi. Who was her King lover?? What will happen to Balladyn?? Can she move on from having so much dark inside of her??

Can't wait to start book 5!!
