A fast-paced and satisfying read for fans of the series. I really appreciated the attention and time dedicated to acknowledging the mental impact and trauma a lot of the characters have faced, from their childhoods to current events. An element that is often unacknowledged in a lot of fantasy series. I was thrilled to see some of my predications come true and some plot twists were completely unexpected. All my questions leading up to Court were certainly answered, and the addition of some interesting new characters has left me excited for the conclusion of the series. Court has all the elements that fans of the Crave series has been waiting for: witty banter, tears, and gasps!

One would think, for being the biggest point in the series plot, this would have been addicting and difficult to ever stop reading. And I wish I could say that, but I struggled with this one. It’s not only a large book in size, but it reads so long. The first 100 pages were good, everything with the Bloodletter was enlightening, and the final 100 pages were good. Everything else, I could have done without.

Read only in the evenings, and honestly, a lot of this got skimmed. This was difficult for me to get into (did I ever really?) I had little interest in ever returning to this book.

It’s unfortunate because this series gave me such strong YA vampire academy romance vibes and while I love Hudson as a MMC, I really enjoyed Jaxon and Grace together, and the simplicity of their story. After book 2, this series took a turn, got complicated, and introduced so many things to it.

This ended good though. And while there is a slight cliffhanger, I do find myself semi-excited for the next book. Seems to be relationship focused on Hudson and Grace and that I’m all for.

Just as good as the others, can’t wait for the next one with an ending like that!

This series has quite quickly become one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I love the mix of a magical academy, shifters, vampires, witches, gargoyles and everything you can come up with and political and romantic drama. However, those books are quite big considering the target audience. I don't mind reading big books, but for some reason I always have to gather some courage to get them. Last week I finally gathered enough courage to start this book.

This book is an action-packed rollercoaster from start to finish. The characters, and therefore the readers, barely get time to breath. They're trying to save the world, but it seems that wherever they go and whoever they ask for help, they always have to fight for it or fight their way out of it. I personally missed the light hearted or more emotional scenes. But, by the end of the book there were still a few scenes getting me to tear up.

In a way this book felt like a series finale, even though there are more books to come. I did quite like though how everything and everyone came together. We finally got to see the court of the gargoyles, we also saw how Grace learned that she doesn't have to save the entire world on her own and even though this book was mostly about action and not so much about emotion, we saw quite a few characters growing and learning a lot during this book.

I also really enjoyed the actual finale of the book. Since it was clear that THIS was the big moment, I knew that one way or another things would work out eventually, but the author did a great job creating tension and getting our characters in almost impossible positions. And I really enjoyed how the fight was eventually won. It fitted the characters we met. It fitted what we learned about them. It fitted their personalities.

And now I'm really curious to finally find out what happened in the four months Grace had forgotten about.
