I find it hard to believe that none of the characters in this story ever moved away. I could not imagine staying in one area, especially one house, for over 30 years. Either way how much fun would it be to have a book club and group of friends stay together for that long.
I loved this book. Each character is distinctly individual, while on the surface they all seem the same.

Practically a life time happens in this book. I loved seeing snapshots of their lives and love how it revolves around books and a friendships that are basically family. It does have its hard and sad parts, but there are plenty of fun moments.

I read this for a book club that my mom's group just started and I was a little hesistant, I think because of the title. But I ended up loving the book and I think it would be appropriate for a first read for a new book club.
This book was surprisingly thought-provoking and engaging. I thought it would be a light, fluffy read, but it provided a multifaceted look at female friendships, parenting, and marriage. It spoke to the imperfections in all of us and the beautiful forgiveness and acceptance of friends. It also made me miss my friends so very, very much.
My favorite kind of book- strong characters, takes place over decades and is told in different voices. One could only hope to find such strong friendships in real life

A fun and emotional read. I fell in love with the story and the characters in the book. I laughed and cried with them. It makes me want to join a book club and hope to have even an ouch of fun that these women have. Would recommend.

I didn't want to like this book! I didn't like the title, and I didn't like the premise of the story. But oh my gosh I couldn't put this book down. It was engaging, thought provoking, and really engaged me. I blazed through this book in under 24 hours!
