similar to the Hating Game. Which I didnt love because I found the characters childish and selfish. These characters are that... but if you can make it to 35% they expose their wounds and it makes them slightly more likeable.

OOooo I loved this steamy book! This is my first ever read by Samantha Young but I've heard amazing things about her other novels and can't wait to pick up more by this author.

Ava Breevort is a super lovable character and Caleb Scott is the perfect amount of infuriatingly sexy and the story was just relatable enough to make it very enjoyable!

Recommend for anyone looking for a slow-burn and steamy romcom.

I absolutely can't be the only person who has noticed and subsequently been annoyed by how frequently Young uses the word "moreover" in her books.

"A miracle had happened. I found myself feeling something for a guy. Actually, maybe, wanting to try out something real with him. And he just happened to be the most brutally honest, commitment--phobic man I'd ever met."

Fate keeps throwing Ava and the taciturn Scotsman Caleb together in this hilarious, sexy, surprisingly emotional enemies-to-lovers inspired read. I love the witty-banter, the heart-to-heart, the emotional connections and the ever evolving story in Fight or Flight.

Young has written some really great characters that I hope to read more of in the future. I'd love a book for Harper!

Fight or Flight is the first book I’ve read by Samantha Young, and based on the fact that I couldn’t put it down, I’d say I chose a good one to start with.

This is a true enemies to lovers story about two people who could not be more different. Whereas Eva is a refined and well-mannered beauty, Caleb is a rude, rugged, and judgmental Scotsman. One thing they do have in common: they each detest each other instantly. Their hostility only increases when they are trapped in an airborne tin death trap, also known as a plane. This makes their one night filled with hate sex both surprising and epic.

Seeing them battle their first impressions of each other is fun and fascinating, with their volley of insults upping the entertainment ante. Eva comes with a Louis Vuitton suitcase full of baggage. Because the story is told from her point of view we learn important parts of her history early on. All that we know about Caleb is what he chooses to reveal, which is frustratingly little. He obviously has his own struggles, but he is one tough nut to crack.

Lust flashes fast and furious between them, but the warmth of true feelings is nice and slow to develop as lines get blurred. Eva is intensely private, and she surprises herself by being so forthcoming with Caleb. Even though she does not welcome her new vulnerability, she loves how she feels when she is with him. Eva is probably my favorite character—both underestimated and misunderstood.

The plot revolves around a benefits without friendship arrangement, but don’t expect a panty melting book. The sex isn’t as graphic or dirty as one might anticipate. That in no way diminishes the chemistry between Caleb and Eva, though. I found this to be an enjoyable read that was well worth my time.

Fight or Flight was a fun little romcom to jump into. Ever since I've read Samantha's Dublin Street books, I've been wanting to jump into something different of hers. So, I think it was great timing for me to come across this little gem.

In it, you will meet Ava and Caleb. At first, things aren't going well for Ava. She is off to go bury a childhood friend and flights are being delayed. On top of all that, Caleb steals her first-class seat. Not sure if his Sottish accent can help sway her into a good mood but I was very excited to find out.

Their relationship was definitely dislike to like for me. I wouldn't necessarily call it enemies to lovers because they barely knew one another when they didn't like each other. Plus, it didn't really take long for their first assumptions to be thwarted either.

In the end, they were likable, and things were pretty predictable. They were also very frustrating at times but when you get two stubborn people that is bound to happen. I still somehow ended up liking the book and will have to be on the lookout for another one of Samantha's books in the new year.

I feel bad giving this a low rating because romance isn’t really my genre and I know it’s supposed to be “escapism” but I don’t want to escape anywhere where these entitled characters exist. They just weren’t really convincing as human beings.

I really loved this story.
And now I need a book 2, where Harper and Jamie get together, because HELLOOOO.
