Another solid Rizzoli and Isles thriller.

I really appreciated Tess Gerritsen mixing it up with not only another character's point of view but also with a first person narrator, and I liked the jumps back in time a lot too.

I figured out what was going on a long time before Jane and Maura did but this was still a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Too much jumping around for me initially. Bit jarring.

I hadn't read a Rizzoli and Isles book in a bit. I was starting to not like how Tess Gerritsen was writing Maura. I liked the character well enough but at times I was also disconnecting from the character. However, maybe time away helped because I liked the Rizzoli and Isles characters as much as I did when I first started reading this series.

I liked the double story of both Boston and Botswana. I actually enjoyed the safari gone wrong part a little more. Overall good mystery. I enjoyed the big cat angle too. A little graphic in the dead body description, as a warning for those who really don't like messy murder scenes. I personally didn't mind, but I read splatter punk a lot so gruesome details don't bother me.

Good mystery and can be mostly read as a stand alone exception of a few Jane and Maura sections.

I recently became obsessed with the Rizzoli & Isles TV show and was ecstatic when I realized there are books! I’m currently at my grandma’s and I noticed she had this laying on the coffee table, so I asked if I could read it. I wasn’t expecting to finish it in one day! Now I want to get the others in the series and start from the beginning! This is a great murder mystery and I love her unique take on multiple perspectives

Review: Die Again by Tess Gerritsen Publication Date: 1st January 2015

Publisher: Random House UK, Transworld Publishing

ISBN: 978059307231

Source: Netgalley

Rating: 5/5

Synopsis:
In Boston, Detective Jane Rizzoli and Forensic Pathologist Maura Isles are investigating a bizarre murder. A man has been found gutted and hanging in his home. When the remains of another victim are found, it is clear that this murderer has been at work for years, and not just in Boston.

Six years ago, a group of travellers set off on an African safari. None of them are seen again – apart from one woman who stumbled out of the bush weeks later, barely alive. The only woman to have seen the killer’s face.

Has the ‘safari killer’ resurfaced in Boston? Jane is sent to Africa to find the one link between the two cases – the only survivor - and convince her to face death once again...

Review:
I adore Rizzoli & Isles - they are strong characters and their interaction is fantastic. Supported by an array of other characters, including survivor Millie, the twosome work to uncover the identity of a serial killer and bring them to justice.

Gerritsen's delightful prose brings each character and each of the locations to life. Her rich descriptive text ensured I could almost smell the African bush, not to mention the eviscerated remains. Although there are a few quite bloody scenes, somehow this author has a way of getting the picture across without the need for unnecessary goriness.

With more tension than a tightly strung guitar, the crime-fighting duo use their expertise and experience to track down the killer, desperate to discover their identity before they dispose of the only survivor of their gruesome attacks. Suspenseful and exciting, this book had me on the edge of my seat. With the killer's identity only revealed at the very last minute, it really kept me guessing. Brilliant.

If you've never read Gerritsen, you're missing out!
