Solid 3.5 - 4 star book! I was not in love with the main character/narrator, but somehow the book captured and held my attention!
Really enjoyed the bulk of this book. Complete plot twist in the end which I always love but I wish I could understand more of the ending. I don’t love how it ended if I’m being honest.. it felt like it was building up to something wild and it just kinda fell flat for me. Hard to explain without giving away spoilers.
This was a fast-paced, realistic story that posed questions that had me wondering: what choices would I make if in such a situation? Would I have done differently than newlyweds Erin and Mark? The situation of happening upon a wreckage while scuba - quickly devolved into life or death situations and choices that would have long-lasting consequences.

I just couldn’t get into the book. The beginning was very boring and I found myself getting bored and uninterested awfully fast. There was no “hooks” to keep me going. You would read about 10-15 pages or boringness to then have one good page and then it would go back to anticlimactic. The storyline of the book seemed really good, which is why I picked up the book in the first place, but it was drawn out too much that it became uninteresting. I also figured out what the main climax of the book was and it never gets resolved which makes me sad. I did flip to the end of the book and tried to “finish” it from there but also still found myself forcing myself to read it.
Ooh baby this was the suspenseful book I was looking for!! Super fun read. I called the ending about 1/2 way through, which made me feel like a smarty.
I really enjoyed the book as I was reading it and thought the story was very interesting and exciting. However, I was disappointing by the ending and wrap up
Story was okay. Lots of small, false details. For example she speaks on bubbles of champagne, but Dom Perignon has very little effervescence because it is aged so long. Also some of the days seemed to be confused. Like something that happened two days ago, she said happened yesterday. The ending was also odd and just fell off without any sort of resolution for everything.
