It was just ok. It would’ve been better if there was some explanation to why he hated his new wife, why get married? But I guess that’s real life. Sometimes you don’t get answers and even if you do they aren’t always satisfying.

Ok so like this story had a good premise and the tension was well done but like idk…FMCs that are dumb and make dumb decisions annoy me. And boy did this one. Like wtf. Good writing good pace (though a bit slow moving at times) but just a LOT of unbelievable actions and events happening in one story and then certain plot lines that didn’t seem to go anywhere and could have but then like PAGES AND PAGES ABOUT GLOCKS AND HOW TO USE THEM WHY?!! I don’t know why this was a Reese Book club pick.

This book was real bad lol. Parts of it had me hooked, but the overall story was haphazardly thrown together. The main character was infuriatingly dumb andshe had absolutely no reason to be pregnant. It added literally nothing to the story.
The characters are 1) vaguely defined, 2) uninteresting, 3) lack dimensions AND 4) completely unsympathetic (I guess this is inevitable give 1-3). I only made it through this one because it's a thriller and I wanted to see how it ended. But the ending was just as unsatisfying as the journey to get there: questions left unanswered, motivations never clearly defined, and a bizarre getaway for the leading lady.
