"some people would rather stay in a toxic relationship than experience the fear of the unknown."

This story was emotional, beautiful, and swoon worthy. I really enjoyed this story surrounding the music industry.

The main character is the daughter of Chris Harmon who runs a record label. She works for him scouting talent.

Rewind eight years when Ryan her gay best friend and her are both dealing and coping with the demons of their life. Tragedy hits and Brooklyn feels lonelier than ever. U

"Blame life for being so short or drugs for having the ability to give you false hope."

Back to present Brooklyn is moving on with her life, she own her own business designing microphones. She is content I wouldn't say happy. She runs into someone who has always been a constant in her life, that brings with him memories of all those years ago. But he also brings Nick into her life. Someone who can appreciate her and worship and for once need her.

The connection between these two is sizzling and angsty. He just wants someone worthy to call his own.

“You know what I love about life?” I ask, smiling when she frowns slightly. “Having you in it every day.”

I liked this quite a bit but, for me, it was just a little too long and repetitive. I’ll definitely being reading more by this author, though.

Beautifully written book, I am a fan of this author and have been saving this book to read for sometime and I'm glad I did. I loved the music background of the. Ok, Claire has such great lyrics and music/concert scenes in her books this did not disappoint. I loved the way she handled topics like depression, acceptance, family love as a adult after a hard childhood, drug use and loss. It felt like a very real look into how depression can effect someone and how important a support system can be when that happens.

The Darkness in someone can be just as beautiful as the light and I loved that Nick saw the darkness in Brooklyn as well as the light.

So far Claire Contreras has not disappointed. Catch me has some heavy subjects; loss, drugs, depression, loneliness, and I think we can all relate to at least one of those. Depression itself is not logical, and it doesn't only happen to the weak or poor. There is no rhyme or reason for those who are affected by it, but there are many ways to live with it. The most important of which is understanding that it doesn't make you less of a person, and it doesn't mean you're weak. The chemical imbalance in the brain that causes depression is no different than the chemical imbalance in hypothyroidism, but for some reason depression has a negative stigma.
Brooklyn is the daughter of a wealthy music label owner, and financially has it all. Of course, money can't buy everything, and as a teenager missing out on some of those crucial elements such as love, and affection send her searching for it in the wrong places. After years of being, and feeling alone she meets someone that seems to get her. He makes her feel beautiful, loved and wanted. Hopefully he'll stick around.

Can't get enough

Amazing story. I couldn't get enough of Nick, Brooklyn and Shea. Mrs Contereas has done it again with this one. A must read for all.

Something about this book just does not quite ring true. It does not quite hit its target when it comes to emotional depth.

Good read. A little slow in parts, a little predictable, but I am a fan of this author (I've loved some of her others) and would definitely say I enjoyed the book overall.
