Was the prose objectively beautiful? Yes. Did it touch me in any way at any point? No. I like the idea of this book but was never able to get into it.

*drum roll* she’s depressed… and she’s racist! (side-eyeing all the white girls who rave about relating to this character).. morality aside i enjoyed the
very chaotic read… i too would like to sleep for a year.. justice for Reva.

I normally like books where skinny girls feel sorry for themselves and do a lot of drugs but this one I just found a bit boring tbh. It's really slow, but it's also pretty well written and I get what the author was trying to say, it just wasn't my cup of tea.
Despite that, the part at the end with Reva, made me cry, I saw it coming but that page, oml
Other than that though, it was just eh for me personally!

Interesting insight into an unlikeable protagonist’s thoughts. Liked the language and the distinct characters.

A refreshing book for me. The exploration of sleep hibernation and the ‘sleepdoing’ aspect was especially intriguing to me. I felt it was slightly clunky/uninteresting on the first few pages but after that it was excellent. Very excited to read more of her work.
