There were inconsistencies but otherwise a light, fun read

Too many plot discontinuities to overlook, but the writing is great.

i like the concept and how the main character is pursuing video game design - its unique for a romance fmc. charlie was such a sweet love interest and was always willing to share his feelings. overall very cute!

I recommend for something light hearted, has summer vibes, and to not be taken seriously. I had a good time with the concepts of this book knowing it wasn’t real (regarding the stupid, workplace men) and just focused on the dynamic of Sloan and Charlie.

I really struggled to rate this book. I liked the characters, I liked the fake dating setup, but career setup for the FMC just seemed like such a poor choice.
Sloane Cooper was a relatable with her career struggles in a male dominated world. What was not relatable to me was the job interview and following situation. I can't imagine how anyone in their right mind would let that all transpire. I kept hoping for the scene where she just said hell no. It never came, at least not in the fashion I would expect or want. Very disappointing.
Sloane's neighbor Charlie was a cute and likeable MMC. He was your typical "nice guy" with a fun sense of humor. He supported her career decision while pointing out how wrong it was. Exactly what you'd want a partner to do in any situation even a stupid one you're going to follow through with.

A pretty standard contemporary romance. However, the plot with the incredibly illegal and sexist video game design firm made me want to stop listening over and over again.
