:: 4 Pretty Little Stars ::

My first thought after finishing this book: “It can’t end here. There has to be MORE.” While this book doesn’t end in a cliffhanger per se, I feel like the story can’t possibly end like it did here. It simply can’t. Or I will be SUPER upset! :o) For those who are wondering, this is a SEQUEL to YOU by Caroline Kepnes. In order to fully appreciate and understand the storyline that is going on, you have to read the first book. Overall, for being a sequal I have to admit that this book was FABULULOUS. It is just as good as the first one. This is hard to do because a lot of times the sequels don’t live up to the first book. Like ever. This is not the case with this one though and I am VERY happy about this. I love Joe just as much as I did in the first one. Who would have known that a person like him (a murderous stalker) would get into my heart like this? Utter craziness I tell you! The plot is thick, dynamic, totally engrossing, terrifying in a way that you never know what’s happening in the minds of those who are close to you, and flawlessly told. The book is told completely in Joe’s POV, and this brings about his sadistic tendencies and thoughts in a brilliant way. Overall, I absolutely love this series and I really HOPE this will continue…

This book is about a man named Joe who is just looking for real love. He doesn’t want to be played a fool, and he doesn’t want people to hurt him. So when they do, he does the only thing he knows how to do… He murders them. One would think that there is seriously something wrong with this man. But the way the author portrays him shows you otherwise. He is not a man with a clear mental illness… He is just a normal guy who happens to kill sometimes... It’s all nuts, but totally BRILLIANT. Anyway, in this follow-up we see that Joe is still up to his old ways. He is finding love and losing it. He is getting screwed over, and killing because of it. But when he meets his precious Love, things begin to change. Perhaps his homicidal tendencies have gone away… After all, he needs to be a standup guy for his new “family” right? Well see!

This is an amazing follow-up to YOU and I highly recommend reading both of these books. The author tells a unique tale but gives it enough heart to allow readers to fully understand the character’s motivations. Joe is a very complex character - I mean he kills people right – but he is someone we can all appreciate and love all the same. If you haven’t had the chance to read these books, move them UP on your TBR list. I am not kidding. They are BRILLIANT.

Struggled a bit to finish this one.
The middle part with Joe obsessing over Milo and the movie was a slog. Forty and Love are so much more annoying in book than in the show. The show diverges completely from the plot in this one. Ngl the cop death had me cackling.
Ending was good though. Overall, Book 1 was better. Onto #3 and 4

Such a good sequel!! When is Book 3???

Ugh. You was much better. We got all the shitty misogyny without any action for almost 200 pages. Do not recommend.
