I'm rating this four stars because the writing at times was not as cohesive as the first novel. But maybe that was intentional because Joe is absolutely insane. Still, it was a very enjoyable read and while there were a few times I wanted more explanation, I still am glad to have read it.

Ok... Caroline placed my brain in a blender with You.. I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that I am rooting for a sociopath... seriously.. i need help..lol

Well book two continues where book one ended.. so yeah.. more blender time... this time it's not New York blending.. it's Cali blending and that is just a whole other level of crazy!! lol

These books are definitely now for everyone.. they are quirky and completely out of the box! They do entrap you like a Venus flytrap though.... you know the drill... what a pretty little thing.. oh some honey... let me rest here and then BAM!!! You are ensnared with no hope of escaping!

Yeah.. that's these books... If you want to read something that is completely different... root for a psycho and feel like you lost your mind a couple of times.. these books are for you!

It’s a rehash of the first book. Very formulaic.

Too much Joe being obnoxious, too little excitement

It would have probably gotten more interesting but I just couldn't be bothered to keep listening
dark funny fast-paced

Honestly, I managed only 82% of this before I admitted defeat. I loved the first instalment, found it engrossing, unique and creepy. This one felt repetitive, and no where near as absorbing as the first. It seemed to jump into "we're in LA now" super fast, and I just did not care about Love and Forty. I also felt Joe lost his edge, or what made him so compelling to start with.

Joe Goldberg here is probably the last guy you would want to date, talk less of knowing him.

I find it fascinating the way he views the women in his life, including Love, because everything just seems so conditional and surface level and I reallllyyyyt hate this man with my whole being.

Also screw 40 too.
